"Life grows in the Desert"

ATLAS, as it entails, is a music album sensitively built as a journey and invitation to travel, in all senses the word may inspire.
A narrative devoid of words, through 8 instrumental songs infused by multiple timeless influences and sprinkled with a pinch of modern electronic flavorings.
This genre-liberated act finds, or rather openly searches for its cohesive balance revolving around a common ground, a rendezvous point that is the Desert, its eternal stakes and realities present on every continent (even beyond Earth!), as well as all imaginaries and symbolisms associated to it.
Suitably, ATLAS' pivotal music inspiration becomes apparent with the "Assouf" blues style of the Touareg nomads, a consciously open tribute towards the many great musicians of the Sahara like "Tinariwen".

This marks the first full album emerging from the effort of artists duo of brothers "Tune In" (Strasbourg, France), having worked through the past 10+ years as producers, composers, players of instruments with countless international artists and labels, tastefully covering an ever surprising wide array of musical genres and esthetics.

Be it in association with straight pop acts (Paloma Faith), crossover pop singers (Matisyahu), Reggae artists (Sizzla, Chezidek, Omar Perry…) , with long-term ally, the versatile Sudanese rising star Dynamq, or through inventive Remixes - and even more recently, with the successful release of electro-swing track "Bangalore Swing" at the invitation of the UK leading label in that field, the Tune In crew has never kept away from experimenting, embracing music styles from all horizons, echoing either their deeply rooted personal heritage or their rich meetings of circumstances.

"Atlas" comes together as the fruit and reflection of this thorough path, entirely designed by Tune In crew, the two brothers Harry Veynand & Xavier Veynand : from composing, playing all instruments, producing, all the way to crafting the hand-drawn album artwork and managing this independent release. ATLAS, tel que son nom le laisse entendre, est un album sensiblement construit à la manière d'un déplacement, invitation au voyage dans tous les sens que le terme peut inspirer. Un fil narratif dénué de mots, à travers 8 titres instrumentaux faisant cohabiter des influences d'époques et courants multiples, où viennent se loger, par touches, des sonorités électroniques.
Cet acte de composition libéré des considérations de genres trouve, ou plus justement recherche sans artifice son équilibre cohérent au sein d'un terrain commun- véritable point de rendez-vous incarné par le désert: ses enjeux et réalités éternels, présents sur tous les continents (jusqu'à la surface de Mars!), autant que tout imaginaire et symbolisme qui puissent y être associés.
Sur cette ligne suivie, l'inspiration musicale pivot d'ATLAS apparait en pleine lumière avec l'emprunt au style "Assouf", blues des Touareg, une révérence adressée en conscience aux nombreux et excellents musiciens du Sahara comme "Tinariwen", pour n'en citer que les plus célèbres représentants.

Ici se trace le premier album assumé pleinement en position d'artistes par les deux frères constituants "Tune In" (Strasbourg), travaillant depuis une dizaine d'années dans les rôles de producteurs, compositeurs, instrumentistes auprès d'innombrables artistes et labels internationaux, temps au cours desquels ils s'en sont trouvés à couvrir un vaste éventail d'esthétiques et de genres musicaux avec une vitalité toujours surprenante.

Qu'il s'agisse de s'associer avec des artistes pop au sens classique (l'anglaise Paloma Faith), de créations pop alternatives (avec l'américain Matisyahu), de côtoyer la scène Reggae jamaïcaine (Omar Perry, Chezidek, …), d'une coopération de long-terme avec l'artiste aujourd'hui en ascension Dynamq (Sud-Soudan/ USA), d'innovations osées à travers de nombreux Remix, ou encore plus récemment avec la sortie du titre electro-Swing à succès "Bangalore Swing", à l'invitation du label anglais phare dans ce domaine, le duo Tune In n'a jamais reculé face à l'expérimentation, allant avec franchise à la rencontre de styles de tous horizons, entrant aussi bien en résonance avec leur héritage personnel nourri, que saisissant les apports des riches rencontres de parcours.

"Atlas" émerge comme fruit et reflet de ce cheminement au long cours, entièrement conçu par  "Tune In crew", les frères Harry Veynand et Xavier Veynand : de la composition à l'instrumentation et la production, jusqu'au visuel de couverture esquissé à la main, et à la prise en charge de cette sortie en indépendant.
